The trench for the foundation's edge has been completed. A leak in the
sprinkler system kept feeding water into the ditch, so I had to cap it several
feet back from the trench. Nothing bothers Dancer so much as the chiseling away of the subterrean corners of the current foundation: she barks, whimpers, and scratches at the baseboard as the house vibrates. |

Right side yard and foundational trench, back to the chiseled house footing. |
Back trench, complete with water. As the boys watched the laborer dig
this trench, Keith took it as an opportune time to expouse the virtues of
a white color job over, say, ditch digging. |
Left trench, with the house footing this is supposed to show obscured by
Dancer shadow. |
