2001 — the Sherwood year in review

The journal begins: twelve monthly editions for a busy San Diego family — birthdays, baseball, karate, and a first for everything.

JanuaryAllow me to start January 2001 with Bradley's ninth birthday on Friday, December 29th. FebruaryFebruary was empty. MarchAfter a year or two of resisting, I finally agreed this year to participate in friend Russ Bird's annual Weekend… AprilJust because Keith was on crutches and in a leg cast/brace, things didn’t slow down in April. MayMay 2001 at the Sherwoods. JuneJune saw the end of the Little League Season and the end of school, the beginning of Summer and of start of… JulyWhen we last left the Sherwood family, they were spread across the map: Keith and Kristi were at home in San… AugustThe dog days of summer. SeptemberWe have always struggled with three day weekends. OctoberHalloween is not Kristi's and Keith's favorite "holiday." Neither of us particularly likes dressing up in costume. NovemberNovember in San Diego . DecemberWithout a doubt, the biggest event this year for Keith was rupturing his Achilles heel in March.

2002 — the Sherwood year in review

Los Alamos in winter, Sacramento in spring, a 5,000-mile summer road trip, baptisms, and the first Labor Day camp-out.

JanuaryThe Sherwoods made a lightning trip to Los Alamos the first week of the New Year. FebruaryFebruary contained some milestones: Kristi's birthday, Keith's 8 year anniversary at Intuit, and the passing of… MarchOkay, so once a year I have to share a panoramic from atop Black Mountain. AprilApril contains Spring Break, or as we like to call it around here, Kristi's dry run for summer. 2003 — the Sherwood year in review

Dancer the dog arrives; the Ride Across California; Washington D.C.; church musicals; and the house remodel begins.

JulyF ourth of July started on the third of July, when Penasquitos traditionally does their fireworks at the high… AugustT he last several years, August has traditionally held four constants: the start of soccer season, Life Enrichment… SeptemberT he Sherwoods went camping with the Bigelows, the Fabijanics, and several other families over Labor Day weekend. OctoberA t the elementary school silent auction last June, the Sherwoods engaged in a furious bidding war with one or two… NovemberN ature abhors a vacuum, and just because the boys aren’t in soccer this fall doesn’t mean we haven’t found… DecemberT he October fires continue to be the gift that keeps on giving.

2004 — the Sherwood year in review

The hardest and fullest year: a six-month live-in remodel, caregiving for Aunt Betty, club basketball, and church turmoil. (Complete through May.)
